Most Common Xerox Printer and Xerox Copier Problems and Troubleshooting

Xerox printers and copiers are in great demand by businesses and individuals alike. They are also known for their reliability and durability. However, like all other electronic equipment and applications, they can also be susceptible to problems.

Herein, we have listed a few problems that your Xerox printer or copiers could suffer from.

Printing or Copying pages of Unwanted Stuff

A tricky problem! At times, your printer or copier will keep printing page after page of stuff that you do not want. The best thing you could do when this happens is cancel the job. This could be done through the computer or by pressing the concerned button on the printer or copier. Press such a button or click on such button only once. In most cases the problems is solved. If this idea fails, then the best solution would be to switch of the printer or copier and start it again.

The Watermark Problem

Many printer or copiers might leave a watermark in the background of the printed or copied documents. The culprit in this case is improper selection of options. All you need to do to troubleshoot this problem is go to the print menu, and select the appropriate option.

Ink Cartridge Cleaning Routine Does not Work

If you have decided to clean your printer ink cartridge for some reason or the other and the cleaning routine does not work, you should leave the printer cartridge overnight. The printer must be turned off. The next day you must put the Xerox ink cartridge through another cleaning process. The problem when it comes to ink cartridges is usually the drying up of the ink. Putting it through a cleaning process will definitely soften the dried ink. The printer can then clean it easily. The same fact remains true for copiers as well. Another printer ink cartridge related problem that is limited to printers and that is that when you use solid ink, at times there is a streaking seen in the produced prints.

Streaking of Ink

The first thing that you must do, in this case is look up the ‘fault’ codes on the printer display.  Correct fault codes will tell you that the pins that are responsible for the lifting of the maintenance drawer are worn down. Moreover, when the pins are worn down, the drum does not get oiled in the proper manner. Thus, the ink is not delivered onto the document in its entirety.

Until and unless the printer is a multifunctional printer which also has a ‘copying’ functionality, the problems of both the types of documentation machines will be markedly different from each other.
